The April edition of the South West Region Education Newsletter is now available. In this edition you will find a variety of interesting courses for UNISON members, including strategies for coping with stress and mental health awareness. We also have an exciting new partnership with LearnDevon, who will be running courses on IT and employability skills, and no; you don’t need to be a member working in Devon to benefit from these online courses!
Please make sure you check and update your membership details on My UNISON. You will soon be able to apply to attend courses through My UNISON, making it a much easier process for members and branches. We will keep you updated.
Learning at Work Week 17 – 23 May is all about celebrating and promoting learning in the workplace. This year’s theme is ‘Made for Learning’. If you are running any activities, or would like support in running anything, please email unisonsweducation@unison.co.uk.
Calling all Members – feature in our newsletter!
We’d like to get to know each other better, so we are inviting members to feature in the newsletter and on our social media to tell us why they joined Unison and what they love about being a member. All you need to do is answer a few short questions.
This is your chance to shout about why you think unions are important.
If you are interested in answering some short questions and sharing your responses with current and future members, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Lindsay Coleman (Lindsay.coleman@bristol.ac.uk) and Nathan Street (Nathan.Street@bristol.ac.uk) – all you need to do is send us both an email saying “Hi! I’d like to feature as a member in the University of Bristol Unison newsletter!” We look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible.
